Congratulations to Dan Thomas who ran a half marathon for the very first time on Sunday 23rd March. Dan (on right in photo with fellow runner Hamish) ran to support CALLplus. After the run Dan said:
I volunteered to run in the Wilmslow Half Marathon with several colleagues from Celsius Graduate Recruitment. I ran on behalf of CALLPlus as I have close personal ties with the charity and know first hand that all money raised goes to a fantastic cause. Despite running through considerable pain from blisters beyond the 7 mile point, I completed the 13 miles on Sunday, crossing the line in a commendable 2 hours and 6 seconds. The aftermath from Sunday had left my feet looking worse for wear and the fatigue is still evident in my legs, however, knowing of the benefit that other people will get from the money I have been able to raise pushed me through the race and continues to do so through my recovery.
Thanks again to Dan for choosing to sponsor CALLplus on his first-time run.
